Swim lessons at our Sacramento area gyms are taught by certified Water Safety Instructor (WSI) and Aquatics Swim Instructor (ASI) teachers who conduct classes in private and group settings. We have lessons for all ages and abilities, including swim lessons for kids, toddler swimming lessons, and swimming lessons for babies.

One session is a 2-week period, Monday - Thursday, unless otherwise noted to accommodate a holiday.

Local swimming lessons are available at Arden, Citrus Heights, Elk Grove, Folsom, Laguna, Natomas, Orangevale, Rocklin, and Sunrise.

 

THE SWIM CLASSES WE OFFER:

Parent/Child

This class gives parents the opportunity to learn safe and fun swimming skills that will orient their children to water activities. Parent Skills: Holding positions, touching cues, and safety skills Child Skills: Safe entry and exit of swimming pool; water adjustment; kicking, front and back

Turtles I

This class will help your child safely explore the water while learning basic skills. Skills: Entry and exit of swimming pool; water adjustment; buoyancy or floating; locomotion with walking and kicking; arm strokes 

Turtles II

This swim class will help your child safely explore the water while learning basic water skills that build on what was covered in Turtles I. Skills: Pool entry and exit; water adjustment; buoyancy or floating; locomotion with walking and kicking; arm strokes

Seahorses I

This swim class teaches children the primary skills needed to master all strokes. Skills: Unassisted floats; glides; entry into deep water; combined arm and leg skills on the front and back; introduce crawl; elementary back stroke and back crawl; sculling and treading 

Seahorses II

Children continue to learn the primary swimming skills needed to master all strokes. This class builds on what was covered in Seahorses I. Skills: Unassisted floats; glides; entry into deep water; combined arm and leg skills on the front and back; introduce crawl; elementary back stroke and back crawl; sculling and treading

Dolphins

Stroke and development is the main focus when swim students reach this level. Skills: Side breathing; continue elementary back, crawl, and back crawl

Sharks

This level takes all strokes and skills to a higher proficiency level and teaches students how to apply them in racing, water polo, synchronized swimming, and life guarding. Skills: Perfection of crawl; back, breast, side and butterfly strokes; turns, both recreational and competitive; water rescue skills; and application of skills for endurance and survival.
