Intro Group Fitness Classes

A Gentler Approach

Maybe you're new to exercise. Perhaps you're recovering from an injury or surgery. Or you could simply want a gentler approach to fitness. That's where these classes enter the picture. They'll help you find your inner athlete while you get in shape and increase your stamina, flexibility, and strength while building your core. Our Certified Personal Trainers (CPTs) are willing to customize each class according to its participants' needs.

Intro to Cycle

Description: Always wanted to try our cycles but didn't know where to start? This class teaches you correct bike set up, how to maintain good form, and cycle terminology. Once you have a custom bike fit and understand the basics, our CPTs will take you for a 15-to-20-minute spin so you can practice your new skills. Please wear comfortable non-baggy clothes and workout shoes. Don't forget your towel and a water bottle.

Benefits: Increases cardiovascular, strengthens lower body, enhances coordination, burns up to 300 calories/30 minutes

Intro to X-Bike

Description: Always wanted to try X-Bike but didn't know where to start? This class teaches you correct X-Bike set up, how to maintain good form, and X-Bike terminology. Once you have a custom bike fit and understand the basics, our CPTs will take you for a 15-to-20-minute spin so you can practice your new skills. Please wear comfortable non-baggy clothes and workout shoes. Don't forget your towel and a water bottle.

Benefits: Increases cardiovascular, strengthens upper body, strengthens core, strengthens lower body, enhances coordination, burns up to 500 calories/30 minutes

Intro to Yoga

Description: For newcomers, beginners and those who enjoy detailed instruction. The physical and mental benefits of yoga will be outlined, as well as basic postures and techniques. Please wear comfortable, non-baggy clothes.

Benefits: Increases flexibility, strengthens muscles, burns up to 200 calories/hour

Yoga Basics

Description: A class designed especially for newcomers or just the "yoga-shy." This class focuses on proper form and breathing techniques and is a great, gentle place to start your yoga practice.

Benefits: Increases flexibility, strengthens muscles, burns up to 200 calories/hour

Young at Heart

Description: Plan to get your hair wet! This class takes place in both the shallow and deep ends of the pool, combining basic swim strokes with vertical movements to give you the cardio challenge you've been wanting.

Benefits: Increases cardiovascular, strengthens muscles, burns up to 250 calories/hour

Silver Sculpt and Stretch

Description: This class is for members who need to focus on balance and flexibility. You'll work with both the stability ball and BOSU Balance Trainer to increase balance, incorporating fitness moves that work on strength and stretching and relaxation techniques that address flexibility. The atmosphere is designed for those who are "young at heart."

Benefits: Increases flexibility, strengthens muscles, increases balance, burns up to 300 calories/hour

H2O Run

Description: This is a challenging class held in the deep or shallow end of the pool, where you run vertically in water without stressing your joints. Our CPTs will lead you through exercises that will increase your land stamina and power.

Benefits: Increases cardiovascular, strengthens muscles, burns up to 500 calories/hour

H2O Cardio/Strength

Description: The best of aquatic cardio movements combined with strength segments to work your whole body.

Benefits: Increases cardiovascular, strengthens muscles, burns up to 250 calories/hour

Silver Circuit

Description: This circuit training class is designed for participants who are "young at heart." From the music used to a gentler circuit approach, mature adults will appreciate a class that focuses on cardiovascular fitness and muscular endurance in an interval-style workout.

Benefits: Increases flexibility, strengthens muscles, increases cardiovascular, burns up to 300 calories/hour

Arthritis Foundation/Arthritis Chair

Description: Are you looking for a fun, safe class that won't leave you in pain? Let our Arthritis Foundation-certified instructors help you keep those joints moving with effective, approved movements performed while sitting on or standing by a chair.

Benefits: Increases flexibility, strengthens muscles, increases cardiovascular, increases balance, increases range of motion, burn up to 300 calories/hour.
