Aqua Fitness

The Power of Aqua Fitness

Our pools offer a great way to not only cool off but also engage in aqua fitness, which is perfect for pre- and post-natal moms, anyone rehabbing injuries, or those who are new to exercise. Aqua training is also an excellent way to improve athletic ability by using the water’s natural resistance to build strength and stamina.

California Family Fitness offers a variety of aqua fitness classes led by our Certified Personal Trainers (CPTs), who focus on participants' personal needs so they get the most out of their workouts.

H2O Arthritis Foundation

Description: Instructors certified by the Arthritis Foundation lead this class through a workout that's perfect for anyone recovering from an injury, surgery or other inflammatory conditions.

Benefits: Increase flexibility, increases cardiovascular, increases balance, increases range of motion, strengthens muscles, burn up to 200 calories/hour.

H2O 101

Description: This class is focused on strength training, with low impact on joints. It's aimed at pregnant women, seniors, anyone in recovery from injury or surgery, or just those who could benefit from this kind of workout.

Benefits: Increases cardiovascular, strengthens muscles, burn up to 250 calories/hour.

H2O Core Challenge

Description: Water workouts help you strengthen and stabilize your abs and back muscles.

Benefits: Increases cardiovascular, strengthens muscles, burn up to 250 calories/hour.

H2O Fusion

Description: You've heard of fusion food. How about a fusion workout? This combo class integrates power, sports, running, walking, kickboxing, spin, step, strength moves, and relaxation.

Benefits: Strengthens muscles, increases cardiovascular, burn up to 250 calories/hour.

H2O Gym & Swim

Description: This class mixes basic swim strokes with vertical movements in both the shallow and deep ends of the pool, so plan to get your hair wet.

Benefits: Increases cardiovascular, strengthens muscles, burn up to 250 calories/hour.

H2O Power

Description: If you want something more intense in the water, this class will work out all your large muscle groups and get your heart rate going. Strength training ends each class.

H2O Run

Description: Running in water is a proven way to build stamina and power without stressing your joints.

Benefits: Increases cardiovascular, strengthens muscles, burn up to 500 calories/hour.

H2O Cardio/Strength

Description: We'll combine aquatic cardio movements with strength segments to work your whole body.

Benefits: Increases cardiovascular, strengthens muscles, burn up to 250 calories/hour.

H2O Strength

Description: You’ll strengthen your muscles with a variety of equipment.

Benefits: Strengthens muscles, increases cardiovascular, burn up to 250 calories/hour.

H2O Treading

Description: Okay, you know plenty of aquatic moves. How about trying them with your feet suspended above the bottom of the pool? This class starts with a minute of treading, with the goal of increasing that to a quarter to half of the class spent with no feet touching the bottom of the pool.

Benefits: Increases cardiovascular, strengthens muscles, burn up to 300 calories/hour.

H2O Pilates

Description: This class combines basic vertical Pilates moves in the water, with a noodle thrown in for a greater challenge.

Benefits: Strengthens muscles, increases cardiovascular, burn up to 250 calories/hour.

H2O Intervals

Description: This class offers 10- to 60-second bursts that train your muscles to fatigue, not failure.

Benefits: Increases cardiovascular, strengthens muscles, burn up to 300 calories/hour.

H2O Walk

Description: Take a water walk and burn 400 - 500 calories in just an hour, with zero joint impact.

Benefits: Strengthens muscles, increases cardiovascular, burn up to 250 calories/hour.

H2O Interval Walk

Description: Intervals and water walks. It's a whole-body challenge with no joint impact.

H2O Deep

Description: Run to the deep end in a workout that features cardio and strengthening. Great for challenging your core.

Benefits: Strengthens muscles, increases cardiovascular, burn up to 300 calories/hour.

H2O Deep Intervals

Description: Run toward the deep end and incorporate intervals into the workout.

Benefits: Strengthens muscles, increases cardiovascular, burn up to 500 calories/hour.

H2O Deep Run

Description: We call our pools "liquid weight rooms," thanks to their ability to enhance your cardiovascular system. This class is geared toward those who don't want to run on land, are recovering from an injury, or want to use the resistance of the water to increase their running form and ability on land.

Benefits: Increases cardiovascular, strengthens muscles, burn up to 500 calories/hour.

H2O Deep Core Challenge

Description: Strap on a belt in the deep water and push your abdominal and back muscles like never before. This is a great addition to land training, and a great option for those who can't work their core on land due to injuries.

 Benefits: Strengthens muscles, increases cardiovascular, burn up to 250 calories/hour.

H2O Relaxation

Description: Need a way to end a stressful day or a particularly taxing workout? This class features gentle stretching, flexing and relaxing moves that combine Ai Chi, Tai Chi, Yoga, and Pilates in the water.

Benefits: Increases flexibility, decreases stress.

Performance Swim Training

Description: Whether you need coaching with your technique or a workout that will get you ready for a competition, this is the class for you. Our Performance Swim Coaches evaluate your stroke to enhance your efficiency while building a workout that will increase your time and ability.
