A Sporting Change of Pace
We also offer leagues featuring futsal, a soccer variant played indoors on a hard surface with a smaller ball that has less bounce than the typical soccer ball. The futsal pitch is delimited only by lines, with no walls or boards to hit the ball against, so players must be creative and rely on ball control and passing.
For a real thrill, try playing it on a Tokyo rooftop:

Each team has five players, including the goalkeeper, and many of the rules are the same as soccer, including the use of a penalty area around each goal. A futsal match typically consists of two 20-minute periods.
Internationally, there are a variety of futsal federations and leagues, with FIFA serving as its governing body and the administrator of the Futsal World Cup, which is played every four years. You can read more about futsal at Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Futsal.
