Youth Soccer Update: Week 2
We are about to start our February session of youth indoor soccer here at California Family Fitness. Teams that are participating are asked to have all paperwork (roster/liability forms, as well as proof of age), submitted by the 2nd week of the session. Teams that have played in previous sessions during the 2013-2014 season can reuse their rosters, we just ask that any new players be added to the list, as well as submit proof of age. Following the 2nd week of the session, those groups that have games during the weekend, may be adjusted.
The placement of teams into certain groups can be a very inexact science, and we find out quickly whether or not a team belongs in a given group or not. With this being said, I will be adjusting groups on Monday morning with the hope of moving teams into more evenly skilled groups.
Please note that it isn’t always possible to move a team up/down. Whenever a team moves down to a lower skilled group, there must be a team in the lower group that would be better suited in a higher group. I try to avoid fixing a problem with causing a new one. Although California Family Fitness has the final say in all group adjustments, you are more than welcome to come with your “2 cents,” if you have any input that you feel would be beneficial to know. I will be working on the adjustments staring Monday morning at 8am, so any input needs to be submitted (preferably via email) by that time.
When groups get adjusted, game times for weeks 3 – 6 could be effected. Once adjustments are completed, and the website is updated, I will let you know via email. It is always a good idea to double check your schedule for any changes – even if you your team isn’t moved to another group.
I hope you are all enjoying your session so far – and I wish you the best of luck in the weeks to come!
*It is at the Parent's/Coach's discretion when allowing players to play "up" in an older age group.
