As of 7/1/20, California Department of Public Health updated their COVID-19 guidelines for fitness facilities and their patrons.  These new guidelines, which will be enforced by State agencies, specifically state that, “If indoors, workers and patrons must wear face coverings at all times except when showering.”  In support of community efforts to slow the spread of COVID-19, we are adhering to these guidelines and will be reminding members to remain masked while inside our facilities.

Please be respectful of any Cal Fit staff member that approaches you to enforce this policy, and remember the following:

  • Members must wear a face covering at all times within the indoor spaces of our clubs, except while showering.
  • Masks should not be removed during workouts.
  • Masks will not be provided by Cal Fit. Please bring your own mask with you to the club. Disposable masks are available for purchase at the Front Desk for $1 + tax.

It is important that our Cal Fit community follows these guidelines together so that we can continue to keep our clubs open and available for member use. Thank you for your ongoing support of California Family Fitness and the communities in which we live, work, and play.

In order to follow state and local public health guidelines and directives to prevent the spread of COVID-19, we have had to make some necessary changes to our group fitness program. Here's what you can expect when you return to group fitness classes:

Class sizes and social distancing
In order to maintain appropriate social distancing, class capacity in all studios will be at 50% or lower of room capacity. Studios have been measured out and floors marked for your convenience, so that you maintain social distancing during class. Instructors will be able to give you further guidance.

Class schedules
Please check schedules regularly on the Cal Fit app for updates and changes. Aqua classes will resume with reduced class sizes as soon as we are able to schedule lifeguard certification with our aqua instructors.

Reservations and Check-In
With classes sizes reduced, it is more important than ever to reserve your place in class. Reservations are now required for all classes.  Please use this Cal Fit app to reserve your place in class. Morning classes (any that begin before or at noon) will be open for reservations at 5AM on the day of class. Afternoon/evening classes will be open for reservation at 1PM on the day of class. Please plan to check-in on the Cal Fit app within 10 minutes of the class start time. In-club kiosks will be temporarily unavailable. Any open spots in the room will be given to the next person on the wait list.

In accordance with recent state mandates regarding public mask use, masks must be worn inside fitness facilities, except while showering.  Please plan to wear a mask or other face covering during group fitness classes.

You are required to disinfect any equipment you use in the studio before and after use. If you feel sick, have a fever, difficulty breathing, OR if in the last two weeks you have been in contact with a person suspected or confirmed to have COVID-19, please stay home.

Virtual Classes
For those who feel safer participating in group fitness classes virtually at this time, we will continue to provide you live, at-home fitness on-demand solutions here. If you have been enjoying group fitness classes via Zoom or Facebook, these will continue for the time being. Make sure to follow us on social media or our Cal Fit App for announcements on upcoming classes with Cal Fit instructors that you can do at home.

Our goal is to provide you a fitness home and haven, where you can work towards a healthy, happy, and balanced life. We can’t wait to see you in our classes again and look forward to once again providing you the resources to live a healthier life.

We are delighted to announce that Childcare and Kidz Klub has reopened at 9 California Family Fitness locations!

At California Family Fitness, the safety and health of our members and staff are our highest priorities. We’ve followed directives from state and local public health officials in order to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and social distancing can be achieved, without too much disruption to the playful atmosphere parents and children love in Cal Fit Kidz Klubs.  Below you'll find answers for many of the questions you might have about what to expect the next time your family checks in.

Childcare and Kidz Klub Now Open: Elk Grove, Folsom, Laguna, Natomas, Orangevale, Rocklin, Roseville, Sunrise and Watt

Anticipated to Reopen Soon: Arden, Carmichael, Citrus Heights, McClellan, Midtown, Pocket and Rocklin Sports Complex.

Childcare Hours

Monday – Friday  Saturday and Sunday
 8:30AM – 10:30AM  8:30AM – 10:30AM
 11:00AM – 12:30PM  11:00AM – 12:30PM
 3:00PM – 4:30PM  2:30PM – 4:30PM
 5:00PM – 7:00PM

In order to have time to properly clean and disinfect surfaces, we now have several cleaning breaks throughout the day. Childcare and Kidz Klub will be completely closed during each break while staff sanitizes and disinfects all toys, high touch surfaces, outdoor play structures, and bathrooms.

The Check-in Process

You’ll notice several changes at check-in:

  • One family at a time. For social distancing, we ask that you wait outside the Childcare/Kidz Klub entrance area until the family ahead of you has exited.
  • Health screening. You will view a list of symptoms and will be asked to acknowledge that both you and your child are symptom free. A staff member will also conduct a visual wellness check once you reach the Childcare/Kidz Klub reception desk.
  • Masks are required for children ages 3 and up, per state guidelines, with the exception of children that have certain conditions or disabilities.
  • Hand washing. Children are encouraged to wash their hands immediately upon arrival.
  • Sign in/Sign out. Staff will complete the sign in/sign out process. The same parent should be present at both check in and check out.
  • Capacity limits may be implemented. Capacities will be reduced from what they were previously, so if the location is at capacity, staff members may ask you to return later or wait until another family exits. Reservations will be considered in the future based on capacity and need.

How Social Distancing will be maintained in Childcare and Kidz Klub

As you know, socially distancing children is not simple! Here are some of the things we are doing to encourage social distancing:

  • Children will be placed in a small group with a Cal Fit team member as they arrive.
  • Children will remain with the same small group and Cal Fit team member during the duration of their visit. Groups will rotate through various activity stations.

New Childcare & Kidz Klub Rules and Policies

  • Parents are required to label personal belongings prior to arrival. This includes car seats, diaper bags, and water cups.
  • Children should not bring their own toys/belongings. This specifically includes soft toys, blankets, and stuffed animals.
  • No parents will be permitted past the check in area with the exception of nursing, diaper changing, and in case of an emergency.
  • Car seats will be allowed to be placed in the infant area.
  • Indoor play structures are closed, outdoor play structures will be open and sanitized regularly.
  • All play pens, bouncers, saucers and swings will be removed from the infant area.
  • Please acknowledge closure times and pick up your mini-member(s) promptly to allow for staff cleaning intermission.

Thank you for your continued cooperation as our California Family Fitness community adjusts to each phase of reopening. We look forward to seeing our mini members at the clubs again!
